Biographical Notes	One of the country’s first woman solicitors (1927). Born in Shiregreen, Sheffield in 1895. Died in 1978. Married J. S. Brittain (director of Brittain Brothers, Rotherham) in 1919. Educated at Central Secondary School, Sheffield and Training College, Leopold Street, Sheffield. As a young woman she taught domestic science at several Sheffield schools before being articled to her brother-in-law L.H. Brittain at Howard Street.
