Vinnay has dedicated her working life to women who experience difficulty conceiving. Her appointment as the Head of Assisted Conception Unit at St James’ Hospital made her the first woman to hold that role. The Unit has been so successful under Vinnay’s direction that the Unit’s success rate for invitro fertilisation have topped the national league tables. Vinnay was named Yorkshire Woman of Achievement 1996. Vinnay has also helped set up similar Units for the treatment of IVF as far apart as Singapore and King’s College Hospital, London.
