| Biographical Notes | Liz Dawn has played Vera Duckworth in ITV’s Coronation Street since 1974. Born in Burmantofts, Liz began her showbusiness career by singing on the notoriously harsh northern club scene. Best known and loved for her Coronation Street character, Liz is patron of many charities and has led fundraising campaigns for both Killingbeck and St James’ hospitals. Liz was appointed Deputy Mayoress of the City of Leeds when Cllr Bernard Atha was inaugurated as the city’s Lord Mayor. |
