Biographical Notes	In 1918 Violet Glover became the first woman to receive a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Leeds, although her graduation ceremony was held in private. Dr Glover went on to become assistant medical officer at Bradford’s City Hospital and was also a house surgeon at the Leeds Women and Children’s Hospital.
