Biographical Notes When she came to Halifax, girls still wore hats, coats and scarves for PT. Her efforts to get them out of outdoor clothes and into shorts and barefoot were disapproved of at the time, but her work in Halifax 1926 - c1950 brought visitors to Halifax schools from all over the country. Films were made of her programmes of activity and shown all over the world. Her work in the Halifax schools was featured in a Ministry publication, 'Moving and Growing', and her remedial classes at the school clinic became a standard feature of the schools' health service. After she retired, she continued her work in a clinic in Todmorden.
